ZPMC USA

ZPMC USA’s crews relocate, raise and modernize cranes at ports across North America. Its website was a builder template with a photo slider and five thin pages. We rebuilt it in WordPress so every service, project and piece of equipment has a page of its own.

The project and market

ZPMC USA is the North American service arm of port crane maker ZPMC, based in Wall Township, New Jersey. Its teams relocate and offload cranes, replace crane rail, raise and modernize existing equipment, and respond to emergency repairs at container terminals.

Its buyers are port authorities and terminal operators. They’re engineers and procurement teams who check a contractor’s equipment, past projects and safety record before they ask for a proposal. The website has to answer those questions without a phone call.

The challenge

The old site ran on a drag-and-drop builder template. The homepage was a rotating photo slider with one heading, a link to a news statement on another website. A footer line meant for job postings, “This is where we will post any employment opportunities,” showed on page after page.

The work itself was nearly invisible. No page explained a single service. The about page named a few in one sentence; offloading, rail repair, emergency response and engineering weren’t mentioned at all. The projects page opened with the template’s stock welcome text, then seven videos with one-line captions. A port engineer could see that the company moved cranes, but not how, with what equipment, or with what result.

Strategy and implementation

A page for every service

The six services ZPMC USA actually sells each got a page: Relocation, Offloading, Rail Replacement and Repair, Modernization, Emergency Service, and Consulting and Engineering. The homepage introduces all six in one section, so a terminal operator can find the right one in a single scroll.

Projects told as challenge, approach and outcome

Video captions became project pages. Each one follows the same structure: the challenge, the approach, the outcome, the project details and a gallery, with related projects at the bottom. A procurement team can compare jobs side by side because every page answers the same questions in the same order.

Equipment as a fleet, not a footnote

ZPMC USA’s own equipment is a reason to hire them: self-propelled modular transporters, crane carrying systems, jacking systems and scaffolding built for crane work. The new site gives the fleet its own section, with a page for each system.

Safety gets its own page

In port work, safety is a buying criterion, not a slogan. The new Safety and Compliance page explains how jobs are prepared, how compliance is verified and how work is executed on a live terminal.

Content the team can run

Projects, services and equipment are built as their own content types in WordPress. When ZPMC USA finishes a job or adds a system to the fleet, staff add it from the dashboard and it appears in the right section, in the same layout, without a developer.

Before and after

Results

The new site launched in 2026. This is a launch case study: it shows what was built and why. ZPMC USA’s work comes through bids and direct relationships with ports, so search traffic isn’t the measure that matters most here. What changed is that a port authority checking ZPMC USA now finds every service, project and piece of equipment explained on its own page.
